Care Compass is an independent insurance agency that helps seniors navigate the complexities of Medicare and other Senior Products. Our goal is to empower Medicare-eligible individuals to make educated and informed decisions about their healthcare.
Our services are offered at no cost to clients and include general Medicare education, plan education and comparisons, prescription drug assistance, enrollment assistance, annual reviews, ancillary product recommendations, and ongoing customer service & support.
Care Compass is proudly owned and operated in Duncansville, Pennsylvania and serves the residents of Blair County and the surrounding region.
Meet the Team

As a licensed health and life insurance broker in Pennsylvania and an AHIP-certified professional, Tara brings both expertise and compassion to Medicare guidance. Before founding Care Compass, she spent over 13 years in the medical device field, supporting patients and working alongside healthcare professionals. During that time, she saw firsthand how many Medicare-eligible individuals struggled to understand their coverage, an experience that sparked her passion for helping seniors navigate Medicare with confidence and clarity.
Tara is a proud supporter of the local community. She serves on the board of Penn-Mont Academy, is a Chamber Ambassador through the Blair County Chamber of Commerce, and was honored as one of the Altoona Mirror’s "20 Under 40" in 2020. Care Compass is also a member of the Blair County Chamber.
Originally from Cape May, New Jersey, Tara attended Penn State University, where she played for the Women’s Varsity Soccer Team from 2006 to 2010. After graduation, she moved to Blair County and now lives in Hollidaysburg with her husband, Mark, and their two children. In her free time, she coaches her son’s soccer team, teaches yoga at Simply Power Yoga in Altoona, and enjoys life with their two dogs, Forrest and Togo.

This friendly blue turtle is Tara’s trusty sidekick and Care Compass ambassador! Known for his wisdom, steadiness, and patience, he helped his parents navigate the confusing Medicare process when they turned 65, sparking his passion for assisting other seniors through the process.
Like many of his turtle pals, he embodies good health and longevity, qualities that he hopes to share by providing seniors with the tools they need to make wise and educated healthcare decisions.
Truman, derived from the word “Truth”, reflects our commitment to honesty and transparency, the cornerstones of any good business relationship. He is a symbol of our commitment to providing truthful and reliable service to the residents of Blair County and beyond.
Truman comes from a big family of turtles and enjoys spending time with his siblings and many nieces and nephews. In his free time, he loves reading and playing Pickleball. Truman also enjoys spending time outdoors, whether it's swimming in a nearby pond, taking leisurely strolls through Lakemont Park, or just watching the trains pass at Horseshoe Curve.
