November is also National Diabetes Month, and we’re highlighting key prevention tips and the important ways Medicare supports diabetes care and management. Plus, we’re celebrating an exciting milestone - 100+ five-star reviews! - and sharing a helpful holiday-season blog post on what Medicare covers (and doesn’t) when you travel. Let’s dive in!
🏥 MEDICARE MINUTE
FINAL 2026 MEDICARE COSTS ANNOUNCED
Medicare has officially announced the final Medicare costs for 2026:
The standard Part B premium will be $202.90.
The Part B annual deductible will be $283.
For prescription drug coverage under Medicare Part D, the maximum out-of-pocket cost (the drug cap) will be $2,100.
SOCIAL SECURITY RETIREMENT AGE INCREASES - MEDICARE STAYS AT 65
The Social Security Full Retirement Age (FRA) is increasing to age 67 for those born in 1960 or later. ⚠️ CRITICAL REMINDER: This DOES NOT change your Medicare eligibility age, which remains age 65 for most. If your FRA is 67, you may still need to enroll in Medicare at 65. Delaying enrollment can cause gaps and lifetime late penalties unless you have a qualifying exception (like creditable large employer coverage).
STEP BY STEP GUIDE: EVALUATING YOUR PRESCRIPTION DRUG PLAN (PDP) COVERAGE
If you have a Medigap (Medicare Supplement) plan, your coverage is not affected by the Annual Enrollment Period, so no action is needed to keep your policy active in 2026. However, your prescription drug plan (Part D) can change from year to year, so it’s a good idea to review it to make sure it still meets your needs. Check out this helpful video from Tara showing step-by-step how to review your medications and compare plans on the official Medicare.gov website. It’s quick, easy, and ensures you will be in the best Rx plan for 2026.
✨TIMELY TOPIC: NATIONAL DIABETES MONTH
November is National Diabetes Month, a vital reminder to focus on prevention and management of this common chronic condition. Did you know that over 38 million Americans have diabetes and the disease is on the rise? The good news is that Medicare offers substantial coverage to help beneficiaries manage or prevent diabetes.

🤓 QUICK READS & FUN FINDS
🥧 Did you know? The first Thanksgiving celebrated by the Pilgrims in 1621 was likely not repeated for another 50 years and only became an official national holiday thanks to Sarah Josepha Hale (the author of "Mary Had a Little Lamb") who lobbied five presidents for 15 years. The ‘Mother of Thanksgiving’ was persistent in arguing that establishing the national November holiday could help heal wounds from the Civil War.
💡 INSIGHTS
“Gratitude turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity... It makes sense of our past, brings peace for today, and creates a vision for tomorrow." — Melody Beattie
